In 2018, I was invited to be a guest on TRIBE on Net25. At the time, I had just received an Honorable Mention from the Movable Book Society, and I was excited to share my passion for paper engineering on national television.
On the show, I demonstrated a Rizal Monument pop-up in celebration of our heritage and a moving dolphin card to showcase simple mechanical techniques. These were designs I had created during my early years—works that, looking back, feel simple compared to what I create today. But that’s the beauty of growth.
Seeing those early works reminds me of the curiosity and excitement that started it all. My love for paper engineering has only deepened over the years, and my drive to teach and share this craft has become just as important as the work itself.
Growth isn’t always about looking ahead—it’s also about looking back and appreciating how far you’ve come.
