A SHE-EO channels the drive for positive social impact and continuous leadership development.

Our Founder Amy joined the Spark Her Enterprise (SHE) Fellowship program back in May 2024 to enhance Pumapapel’s growth under the program’s crowdfunding track. This 8-month program facilitated by The Spark Project and the Sasakawa Peace Foundation gave Amy the necessary training, supportive tools and perspective to further develop herself as a leader and amplify her impact as a pioneering paper engineer in the Philippines.

She recognized the need to expand Pumapapel’s production capabilities and meet the demands of our mission: to uplift Filipino artistry through creative paper products. As of February 2025, the crowdfunding campaign hosted on the Spark Project’s platform resulted in a success. We raised 110% of our funding goal for upgraded equipment thanks to our enthusiastic backers! Truly a milestone for Pumapapel, this expansion opens up more possibilities to innovate with paper.
Amy highlighted this in her presentation along with key realizations she had on her final stage of the SHE Fellowship program—the showcase day. She shared Pumapapel’s refined mission and goals and celebrated its improvements, flourishing in the supportive network of Filipino women-led enterprises present at the event.
Throughout this journey, Amy gained a deeper understanding of leadership and entrepreneurship. Empowered by the program, she has a clearer picture for the company’s future: to upgrade Pumapapel’s product innovation capabilities with the success of her crowdfunding campaign, and to build a stronger relationship with Pumapapel’s local and international community.
